1940s short coat of chocolate brown fur.
One single button at neck and two hook and eye closures down front. 
Huge, voluminous balloon sleeves.
Lined in heavy brown satin with cord embroidery. 
Excellent condition.
Fur is soft and supple with very minimal shedding.
Slight wear to fur at left pocket.
A few areas where fur doesn't lay flat.
Slight fading to lining.
I am not a fur expert, but with simple research I feel comfortable claiming this is mink.
